Shipping
Your Motorcycle
If you prefer to
ride your own motorcycle on one of our tours and you
don't have the time to ride to Vermont or Maine from your
home, you may want to consider shipping your bike. We work
with a company that can ship your bike uncrated from your
local dealer to a dealership near one of our tour bases.
If you want to come with a friend or two, the shipping
company will discount multiple bike shipments as long as
they all leave from one location. Contact us for details
or contact Federal/Allied shipping at

If you
choose to ship your motorcycle, we can arrange to meet
you at the airport and transport you to a local
motorcycle dealer where your bike will be waiting. Additional
luggage may be shipped directly to our tour base to await
your arrival. Mountains tour riders
would arrive at Bradley International Airport (Hartford,
Connecticut) and Maritime tour riders
would arrive at Bangor Airport (Bangor, Maine).

Motorcycle
Several "Fly and Ride"
options are available for renting BMW, Harley-Davidson and Honda motorcycles. We will work with you to coordinate airport
arrival/departure and other details. Depending on your plans
and the type of motorcycle you wish to rent, the following airports could

For the 2005/2006 seasons, the following
motorcycle models can be rented for tours, pending availability:
BMW: R1150GS
Harley Davidson: Ultra Classic, Road King, most other models
Honda: Gold Wing 1800, Shadow Ace
Rental
availability for certain models can be limited so we encourage
you to make your rental reservation as early as possible. We
highly recommend that international participants arrive the day
before the tour start date to allow rest time and to adjust to
the time zone change. Departure
flights should be scheduled for either the evening of the tour's
last date or the day after.
You, and your co-rider,
need to supply your own motorcycle helmets and riding gear. We
also recommend using a tankbag, while on tour, if it will fit the
model of motorcycle you plan to ride. With prior
arrangement, riding gear may be shipped to the rental site so
that it is waiting for you upon arrival. Luggage to be carried in
the chase vehicle may also be shipped to Northeastern
Motorcycle Tours prior to the tour departure
date if you request.
